Counselor/Advocate (Relief) Position Available
POSITION: Counselor/Advocate – As Needed Relief
STATUS/HOURS: Part Time, hourly ($10.50 – $12.50/hour)
Su Casa ~ Ending Domestic Violence is a nonprofit community organization that aims to empower individuals and families to live free from domestic abuse and build partnerships with communities to end domestic violence. For thirty-five years, Su Casa has been serving the Southeast Los Angeles County area through our 24-hour hotline, Emergency Shelter, Transitional Shelter, Walk-In Center, and Community Education and Awareness Program.
Su Casa has an opening for Counselor/Advocate, as-needed relief staff. Under the supervision of the Emergency Shelter Manager, the position is responsible for (1) answering hotline calls; (2) providing crisis counseling and case management support to shelter residents; (3) ensuring the safety, security and cleanliness of the shelter facilities; and, (4) maintaining documentation in case files.
MINIMUM DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
1. College Degree or equivalent experience.
2. One-year experience as a counselor/advocate and/or working with survivors of domestic violence.
3. Certification in the 40-hour domestic violence training required by CA.
4. Bilingual required: English/Spanish.
