POSITION: EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
POSITION SUMMARY:
Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Executive Director is responsible for the overall management of a comprehensive domestic violence service organization, including daily operations, fund development, and fiscal management.
ABOUT SU CASA ~ ENDING DOMESTIC VIOLENCE:
Su Casa ~ Ending Domestic Violence is a nonprofit community organization located in Long Beach dedicated to empowering individuals and families to live free from domestic abuse and building partnerships with communities to end domestic violence. This is accomplished through the 24-hour hotline, Emergency Shelter, Transitional Shelter, Walk-In Center, and Community Education and Awareness Program. With a committed staff, board and volunteers, Su Casa helps victims and their children find safety and healing services through counseling, support groups, case management, advocacy, and life skills classes.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Works with Board in order to fulfill the organization’s mission and vision.
- Develops resources sufficient to ensure the financial health of the organization.
- Leads and manages programs and services to ensure progress and compliance with the organization’s strategic plan and all government contracts.
- Oversees an organizational climate that attracts, retains, and engages a diverse staff of high quality individuals and implements appropriate resources to ensure operations of the organization are effective and appropriate.
PRIMARY QUALIFICATIONS:
- A Bachelor’s Degree required and a Master’s Degree is preferred.
- A minimum of 5 years successful nonprofit management and/or administrative experience.
- Working knowledge of the complexities of domestic violence for individuals, families, and the community.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain effective working relationship with the Board of Directors.
- Working knowledge of fiscal management and budget preparation.
- Demonstrated evidence of strong management and supervisory skills, decision-making, leadership ability, relationship building and consensus-building.
- Strong marketing, public relations, fundraising, and grant writing experience and the ability to engage wide range of stakeholders and cultures.
- Certification in the 40-hour domestic violence training as required by the State of California and clear State and FBI criminal background check.
