Possible cuts to federal funding could impact local domestic violence victims…

by Mar 3, 2017News

Proposed cuts to the federal budget could result in a reduction of services for victims/survivors of domestic violence including shelters, counseling, legal advocacy for restraining orders, and safety planning. Domestic Violence is a public health crisis and we can break the cycle and bring an end to abuse in relationships, but we have a long way to go. Please contact your representatives and urge them to advocate for full funding for the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA) and Victims of Crime. Su Casa has been empowering survivors to live free from domestic violence for 38 years and we intend on continuing our work until all relationships have a safe and healthy foundation.

The Alliance Against Family Violence and Sexual Assault could lose up to 80% of its funding if these cuts go through.
