Su Casa Awarded $90,000 Grant from the John Gogian Family Foundation
The John Gogian Foundation announced that it has awarded a $90,000 grant to Su Casa – Ending Domestic Violence, a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing shelter and supportive services to survivors of domestic violence and their families in the Long Beach area.
The grant is two-fold. It will be used to provide additional funding for the growth initiative spearheaded by the $1.25 million dollar grant awarded by the Bezos Day1 Family Fund as well as supporting Su Casa’s shelter and programs and services for survivors of domestic violence. The organization provides safe shelter, counseling, life skills training, and other services to help survivors heal and rebuild their lives. The growth initiative will seek to increase the capacity of Su Casa’s programs by up to 50%.
Su Casa Executive Director, Alberto Uribe, expressed his gratitude for the foundation’s support. “This grant will make a significant impact on our ability to meet the growing needs of the community and provide shelter and services to survivors of domestic violence. The need is great. Just last year we received more than 1,700 calls to our 24/7 Crisis Hotline and provided over 10,000 bed nights for our clients and their families.”
We are grateful to the John Gogian Foundation for recognizing the importance of our work and supporting our mission.”
